  • Feature Requests: Search bar and selective deletion

hello! This browser extension is great, especially because the explanations of English words are context-based, making them very accurate. However, I find it’s a bit difficult when I try to manage previous records.
Search bar:
If a word or phrase has been stored before, adding a new context does not make it appear in the list for the current day. To view previous records, one has to scroll manually.
Or, it could reappear in the list for the current day along with its previously saved contexts.

Selective deletion:
When a word has multiple saved contexts, allow selective deletion instead of removing all contexts of the word.

Hi, learnlang. I understand what you mean—I had the same thoughts when implementing the Saved Words feature. I also want the ability to delete word contexts separately from the whole saved word record. And I agree, the fact that it doesn’t appear at the top on a new lookup is frustrating.

After thinking it over, I came up with the idea of refactoring the entire Saved Words system to make this (and much more) easier to implement. However, it’s a complex task, which is why it hasn’t been done yet—but it is already planned.

Thanks for your feedback!

By the way, could you clarify why you said, “This browser extension is great”? I’ve never positioned Lookupper as a browser extension, so I’m curious—what made you see it that way? No offense, just genuine curiosity. I want to know what I can do for those of you who primarily use Lookupper in a browser.

    Sorry about that.
My English writing is not very good, so when I wrote this request, I used a previous thank-you letter to a plugin as a template. I’m sorry I didn’t review it carefully before posting it, but my praise for this app is genuine. It has high translation accuracy, English-to-English translation, cross-software function, and automatically takes screenshots and integrates multiple contexts for the same word. These features all in Lookupper really excite me. With just a shortcut, I can replace actions like looking up a dictionary, using Deepl for translations, and recording new words along with the sentences they appear in, which means I won’t frequently interrupt my learning process and turn it into a note-taking task.
I'm really looking forward to the new version. Lookupper is really amazing!

Thank you, friend. I use Lookupper every day and did my best to make it as pleasant to use as possible.

If it's not too much trouble, could you please write a short review on the Microsoft Store? It would help a lot.
