Thank you so much, it is working perfectly now. Truly glad I could help on this great project! I'm already using it to study again. Planning on getting the lifetime license now aswell.

PS. Feature suggestion: I would like it if there is a way to buy the licenses not through the windows store, I would prefer a key I can keep track of and use whenever even If i get a new windows account, but I understand there might be a risk of piracy with some systems like this.. I do see there is an "activate key" option on lookupper but I can't find where else I can buy a license and I would love it.

PPS. If I buy through windows store, will it give me a key I can use even in a different account, or is the license tied to this windows account? Thanks.

    If you purchase Lookupper Pro from the Microsoft Store, you can use it on up to 10 PCs with the same Microsoft account, which is a great benefit.

    There’s also an option to buy a key, but it’s available only to Russian users who use Russian-specific payment methods, as they cannot purchase Lookupper Pro from the Microsoft Store.

    I’m considering implementing my own key licensing system for everyone. However, due to the restrictions in my country, I can’t use services like Stripe, so the Microsoft Store purchase flow is currently the best option available.

I'm wondering if it could be possible to still take payment through the Microsoft Store but just provide a key to your own license system that is not linked to a Microsoft account. but eitherway, I will buy it as it is because it's a great product, and if a DRM free version is ever made I will very happily buy it again 🙂 Thanks again so much, and let me know if I can help in any way at all from America.

          Has anyone been able to make this work for skyrim? I've enabled windowedmode but when I click ctrl D it marks all text in the entire window (not just where the cursor is placed) and I get no popup window. It DOES work when I alt tab the game, move my windows mouse cursor over, and click Ctrl D but sometimes text and windows will disappear when I alt tab, so it's not ideal.

          Edit: Looking a bit more into this and if I'd have to guess I'd say it's because skyrim doesn't allow hardware cursor, so it's not drawing the actual windows cursor, which I'm assuming is what lookuper uses.

              Cheers, thanks! Let me know. I'm pretty sure it's due to the lack of hardware cursor though. It does work if by chance my windows cursor is on top of the word when I click CTRL-D, but since I can't see my windows cursor, I have no way of knowing where it is. I summarize the reason it selects "everything" is because my windows cursor is on a location where there is no word, and this is to my understanding the default behavior of lookupper. If you do manage to find a workaround I would be very happy to hear it.

              Edit: Forgot to mention, Skyrim also disables the keyboard in relation to windows while you're playing (so things like the windows key or other custom keys for custom keyboards don't work). I had to install a mod to fix this, called media keys fix. Skyrim really makes it hard -_-

                So, I installed Skyrim and tried Lookupper in it. I encountered the same problems. I’ll try to install a borderless window mod in addition to keyboard mod to see if it helps. I’ll let you know.

                    No, I honestly don't think it's possible due to Skyrim not supporting a hardware mouse cursor. The way I understand this is that skyrim draws its own mouse cursor and then hides the windows mouse cursor, which is the cursor lookupper uses. A potential workaround would be if the windows mouse cursor would also be displayed. This is a pretty common bug that happens sometimes, as seen here:

                    When this happens the second mouse cursor visible is the ACTUAL windows mouse cursor, and if you use that mouse cursor to indicate what lookupper should translate, it works. Unfortunately skyrim hides the windows mousecursor by default and I don't think there's any way to show it, except for encountering this bug. I'm sure there's a way to make it happen, but people normally go to great lengths to AVOID this second mouse cursor, since it's generally quite annoying.

                    I've found a workaround however, though it's not ideal, and perhaps it only works because I have two monitors:

                    1. Make sure the mouse cursor (the windows one, not the skyrim one) is on the monitor you're running Skyrim (this can be achieved by just moving the mouse towards that window. NB: This mouse cursor is made INVISIBLE by skyrim while it's running, so you don't know where it actually is, but you'll realize it's on the wrong monitor if you click CTRL-D and it highlights whatever's on the other monitor instead of what's in the skyrim window).
                    2. Click CTRL-D, this will highlight all texts in the skyrim window
                    3. Alt tab to display mouse cursor. Sometimes you have to move your mouse to the other monitor and do a left click or right click to make the mouse cursor display.
                    4. Now, because lookupper overlay is on skyrim, mouse cursor will display when you bring it back, now you can use lookupper on the currently visible words.

                    It's not great, but once you get the hang of it it's surprisingly fast.

                        Hey! I'm hoping you'll be able to implement more Asian language compatibility eventually. I'm learning Chinese, so it would be super useful to use Lookupper for that in my games.

                        Suggestions related to that:
                        I don't know if you are okay with looking at other apps for inspiration, but for Chinese I use Inkah (on browser) which is able to detect individual characters, different meanings/pronunciations, and whole words. It also has basic audio, but it can not translate or select whole sentences.

                        If you would like a good resource for Chinese in general, or to test Lookupper, the Chinese Grammar Wiki by AllSetLearning is very helpful. They also include some idioms, etc.

                        For Japanese I believe there is a Youtube extension called Migaku which helps to translate captions in videos for learning and to add them to a deck. I haven't used it though.

                          Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I’ll definitely check out references you provided to see if there are features or ideas I can incorporate into Lookupper. Asian language support (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) is a top priority for me right now. It’s a challenging task, but I’m confident I’ll figure it out soon and get Lookupper working well with those languages. Thanks again for your input.

                            Could you please add a delete checkbox in the page of saved word so that users can delete the useless word and they don't have to delete the word in the anki every time they export words?

                              leuas You can delete any saved word by selecting it and pressing Delete key, or by right-clicking and choosing “Delete.” You can also select multiple words and delete them all at once.

                                Oh, I just realised I could right-click. How do I select the word?

                                  Got it! And why does lookupper become so much large?

                                    leuas Lookupper uses more disk space with each installed dictionary. It seems you might have installed the Oxford English Dictionary, which is 2GB on its own.
